LOS AHOGADOS MÁS HERMOSOS DEL MUNDO es un sitio web reactivo donde el público puede interactuar con estatuas católicas sumergidas en ríos, a través del movimiento del puntero. Su nombre hace un guiño al cuento «El ahogado más hermoso del mundo» de Gabriel García Márquez, para señalar la existencia de signos vacíos, que sirven para justificar lo que se quiera; cualquier acción u omisión, incluso si estas van en contravía a los dogmas. En el contexto colombiano el río se ha usado para lavar los pecados; el río se lleva a su paso no solo las culpas sino también las huellas del conflicto, los cuerpos, mientras la mayoría siquiera se entera a través de una pantalla.
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DROWNED IN THE WORLD is a reactive website where the public can interact with Catholic statues submerged in rivers, through the movement of the pointer. Its name is a nod to the story “The Handsomest Drowned Man In The World” by Gabriel García Márquez, to point out the existence of empty signs, which serve to justify whatever one wants; any action or omission, even if these go against dogmas. In the Colombian context, the river has been used to wash away sins; the river takes with it not only the guilt but also the traces of the conflict, the bodies, while most people do not even find out about it through a screen.
